A white Berlin
It snowed today. A snowstorm. and I thought that it will be a sunny day cause i woke up feeling warm and the sky looks bright and cheery. Boy, i was SO wrong !!! I wore the least today. Minus a jacket. I just had my t shirt and the outer coat on. I wasnt prepared for winter when I left, so I did not bring gloves or wool socks, much less long johns.So we were waiting at the Reichstag to go in and check out a panaromic view of Berlin. It was drizzling slightly with winds howling across the compound. Brrr, it was cold, and it started to be quite unbearable. After about an hour of queuing, we finally got admitted in for security check. The check took a while long cause there was a big group and only one body scanner.
The magical moment came after the security check. We turned around and, WOW!!! IT IS SNOWING OUTSIDE! My gosh, the rain has turned to snow in minutes*.
It was not flakes of snow. In fact, it was ALOT of snow. It is like winter, when it is not supposed to be winter.
The view in Reichstag was amazing. Amazingly white. When you peer out of the window, all you see are white snow. White snow flakes pouring down the sky; white snow on the roofs; white snow piling up on the roads…
I was frozen. Literally. I cannot feel my fingers nor my toes. Yet I was happy (okay, after I warmed up in a café) cause, how often do you get to experience a blizzard?**
*Incredible. I really sympathise with the people queuing outside the door. **I hope that will be the only day though. So that it is special. (No, I just want spring to arrive quickly!)
